《轮机英语听力与会话(附光盘操作级)》主要分为七大模块，每一模块下分若干任务。各任务由Part One：warming up，PartTwo:Listening and Speaking和Part Three：Reading and Speaking三部分组成。在PartOne部分的子任务中，结合相关知识，以图片、常用句子、词汇、单句问答等形式对学生的读写能力进行进一步的提升。Part Two中包括听写、短对话听力、长对话听力和单句问答，主要培养学生的听说能力。Part Three主要包括长文朗读和口述，以此提高学生的朗读技巧，扩展学生的思维来更好的完成口语表达。
吴永华主编的《轮机英语听力与会话(附光盘操作级)》在编写过程当中始终以培养学生的听、说、读、写能力为中心思想，力求在以往对学生进行轮机英语听力与会话培训中只重视听与说的基础上，进一步加强学生对轮机专业英语综合应用能力的培养。本教材可以作为全日制高职(大专)轮机(船电)专业学生在校期间的教学用书，也可以作为海船3000 kW及以上轮机专业三管轮的轮机英语听力与会话海事局评估考试的参考用书。
